sin is not what you do,
sin is what you are!
Sinners by Nature –
“For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death (due to sin) reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” (Romans 5:13-14)
God saves THE UNGODLY (Romans 4:5). God doesn’t save the self-righteous who errantly think they can earn eternal life. No one has ever got saved who didn’t realize that he was a sinner. You’ve got to know what you’re saved from.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23)
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:10
Sinners by Deed –
“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” Ecclesiastes 7:20
“And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Mark 10:18
Sinners cannot inherit heaven –
“For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.” (Psalm 5:4-5)
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (1Corinthians 6:9-11)
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

We’ve all sinned –
Sin is described in the Bible as the breaking of the law of God and rebellion against God
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” (1 John 3:4)
Our sin nature condemns us –
The sin nature is that part in man that makes him rebellious against God. That is we have a natural inclination to sin; given the choice to do God’s will or our own, we will naturally choose to do our own thing.
Proof of the sin nature is everywhere. No one has to teach a child to lie or be selfish; rather, we go to great lengths to teach children to tell the truth and put others first. Sinful behavior comes naturally it is the inclination to do wrong
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12).
God is the only one who is Good, God is righteous. Sin cannot exist in the presence of God.
To be in Gods presence (heaven) we need to be washed in the blood of Christ and by his life, declared righteous in the eyes of God.
And it’s not enough to believe on the Lord if you don’t acknowledge that you’re a sinner, having sinned against a holy God, in need of forgiveness! We must admit our sinful condition! You’re not saved because you give up sin! You must trust upon the Savior to be saved (believing that He died, was buried and resurrected).

Psalms 51:5 – Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Genesis 8:21 – And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
Romans 3:10 – As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Ezekiel 28:15 – Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
1 John 1:10 – If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Job 15:14-16 – What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
