Eternity, Where Will You Spend It?
Have you ever thought about what happens when you die. God tells us that your soul, who you are, lives on and you will spend eternity in one of two places either Heaven or Hell.
“For the wages of sin is death [spiritual death of the soul], but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
You can have eternal life

The Gospel Of Salvation
Jesus Christ paid sin’s penalty thru His substitutionary death on the cross for sin. Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again the third day proving that God accepted His payment for sin and satisfying God’s just demand that sin be punished.
God’s wrath was poured out on Jesus for our sin. When we receive Jesus as Saviour, God can pronounce us innocent having had our sin debt paid for by Christ. For all those who receive Christ as Saviour their sin’s past, present and future have been forgiven and they are no longer accountable for them.

The Gospel is that Jesus Christ DIED on the cross for our sins, was BURIED, and bodily RESURRECTED three days later
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures”
(1st Corinthians 15:3-4).

Reasons why God came to earth
To save us from the judgement of God due to us because of our sin
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:15)
To those who have been saved, God forgave us in Christ by canceling the debt we owed him. That is to say, we are no longer held accountable for our sins, when we die we will not have to pay for them with eternal separation and hell. Jesus died in our place
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” Hebrews 2:9
To pay our Sin Debt, a debt we couldn’t pay ourselves
God accepts the blood of Christ as the complete and satisfying sacrifice for all human sin, thus establishing a means of reconciliation between God and man.
“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” (Hebrews 2:17)
To heal us
“When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: ….” (Mark 2:7a)
To bring people into the light.
“I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.” (John 12:46)
To destroy the devil and his works,
“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8)
To give you Eternal Life
“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23b)
To save sinners
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)
To restore us to God our Father
“And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him” (Colossians 1:20-22)
To reveal God’s Love for humankind
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
To seek and save the lost
“for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)
To bring joy and happiness
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 15:13)
To call sinners to repentance
“When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Mark 2:7)
To reveal God’s love
“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)
To restore our fallen nature to Holiness
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
To give us a new heart.
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
God has a wonderful plan for your life!
“…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
This is what Jesus Christ has already done for us.
By His death on the cross Jesus paid the price for your sins, past, present and future. In other words, He died for you, He became your substitute. He died in your place so you could be set free from the punishment due to you because of your sin. If we face God without Jesus Christ as our Saviour we must give account to God for our lives. God is Holy and righteous, His standard for is heaven is 100% perfection and everyone has missed that mark. The payment we owe for sin is Eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.
