Jesus Warns Us About Hell
From all words that Jesus spoke in the Bible, 13% of his sayings deal with the subject of eternal judgment and hell. Jesus spoke more frequently about hell than He did about heaven.
Jesus warns us “fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell [gehēnna]” (Matthew 10:28)
Hell was not created for man, hell was created as a place of punishment for the devil and his angels that followed him in their rebellion against God.
“Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41)
In the final days of human history the devil and his angels will be condemned to the lake of fire forever.
“And the devil who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10)
Its important to know that God loves you and does not send people to hell through hate of human kind. If we go to hell it’s because we choose to. God has done everything possible to keep you out of hell. God sent his Son to die on the cross as your substitute to pay the sin debt you owe, if we reject God’s free gift of eternal life, we are if fact choosing hell.
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9)
Don’t be caught at the judgement seat without Christ, to be denied heaven is to be granted hell. Hell is a place that is opposite to Heaven.
