How To Become A Member Of God’s Family

First you must understand that we live in a fallen world. We have all done something wrong, God calls this sin and it is sin that separates us from God.

If you want to go to heaven, God has provided a way for you to be accepted. You need to have your sins forgiven, and washed away, so you can be accepted as a member of God’s family. We cannot enter God’s heaven with all of our sins. So, God sent Jesus, the Son of God, to die in our place, and receive our punishment for sin. “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24 NKJV).

By recognizing our sinfulness before God, and accepting Jesus’ sacrifice as payment for our sins, we can have our sins forgiven. Salvation is very simple. The Bible says we must place our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9 ESV).
